Distractions

Why, yes! I am trying to distract you from the distinct lack of knitting content today. I've not so much as cast on for another square, nor have I swatched any of the fine new yarn I got recently. I have no good excuses... just somehow they days slithered through my fingers and I found myself here at Wednesday, without a stitch. I guess it happens sometimes.

I was quite excited yesterday to open my mailbox and find the Summer issue of Interweave! I like many of the projects in this issue, most notably the Marseilles Pullover, Cambridge Jacket, and Eyelet Chemise. The baby cardigan set is so cute, I wish someone I know would become pregnant so I could make one. I am also intrigued by the use of plastic canvas in Veronik Avery's bag, and I love the resulting shape.

Anyone else subscribe and have opinions?

Veronik Avery's bag is probably the first knitted bag I've ever actually liked. It was about an average issue for me--some stuff I really like (Cambridge Jacket, Icarus Shawl, Looking Glass Top, baby set), some stuff I would like to knit but couldn't wear (Marseilles Pullover), and some stuff I just. Don't. Get. (Seaberry Shell)

For a summer issue, I would have liked at least one pair of socks. :) On the other hand, I *do* like the increase in the number of articles.

I'm most excited about the Looking Glasss Top, I think. My goal for the summer is to learn how to knit something shaped for me, and with the abundance of stockinette in that top, it might be a good one to try.

I don't subscribe to Interweave (too lazy) but from all I am hearing about this issue, I can't wait until Barnes & Noble gets it in! (maybe I'll go stalk them again today).

That eyelet chemise is CUTE. Maybe I should get my hands on a copy of this issue!

The eyelet chemise is my favourite, closely followed by the Cambridge jacket.
